cercavo un modello della forma delle coste naturali, ed era lecito pensare che avrebbe rappresentato, nello stesso tempo, il rilievo terrestre e anche la distribuzione delle aree delle proiezioni delle isole sulla sfera terrestre. per far ciò ho proposto una famiglia di processi stocastici che generano superfici aleatorie, famiglia dipendente da un parametro che si può fissare arbitrariamente e che è per l’appunto una dimensione frattale.Benoît B.
